Niyyah (Intention)

Say the Talbiyah:
Labbayk Allahumma Umrah
(Here I am, O Allah, for Umrah.)

2. Ihram

For men: two white unstitched sheets; for women: a modest dress covering the body.
Pray two rak’ahs (optional Sunnah) before entering Ihram.
Avoid forbidden acts during Ihram (cutting nails/hair, using perfume, marital relations, hunting, etc.).

3. Recite the Talbiyah
Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka Laa Shareeka Laka Labbayk. Innal-Hamda wan-Ni’mata Laka wal-Mulk, Laa Shareeka Lak.

4. Perform Tawaf

5. Perform Sa’i (Between Safa and Marwah)

6. Taqsir

Men: Shave the head completely (preferred) or trim hair evenly.

Women: Trim a small portion (about an inch) from the ends of their hair.

7. End of Umrah

In the state of Ihram is forbidden to cut hair or nails, use perfume, engage in sexual relations, wear tailored clothing (for men), and hunt.
